KEY HIGHLIGHTS:
The purpose of this study was to compare the performance of ready-made spectacles (RMS) and custom spectacles (CS) in an adult population with uncorrected refractive error (URE).
Few participants from RMS group intended to continue to wear the study spectacles after one month.
Nearly 90% of an adult population with URE planned to continue to use their RMS at one month.
Participants with more complex refractive errors are less satisfied with RMS.
