KEY HIGHLIGHTS:

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the performance of ready-made spectacles (RMS) and custom spectacles (CS) in an adult population with uncorrected refractive error (URE).

  • Few participants from RMS group intended to continue to wear the study spectacles after one month.

  • Nearly 90% of an adult population with URE planned to continue to use their RMS at one month.

  • Participants with more complex refractive errors are less satisfied with RMS.
